Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Uses FTK® to Collect Key Digital Evidence Leading to International Convictions
It was a case that federal prosecutors and an experienced judge described as the most egregious case they have ever seen.
"FTK was instrumental in being able to identify images that were the key to this investigation and then provide the forensically sound chain of custody that enabled us to tie those images back to the specific individuals involved in the abuse of children.”
—Brent Gromer, ICAC Commander for the State of South Dakota
When the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force received a tip through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a school teacher in Rapid City, S.D., was engaged in illicit behavior involving children, they turned to Forensic Toolkit® (FTK®) to identify and analyze thousands of images in the suspect's possession. What they didn't know at the time was that the investigation in South Dakota would lead to 24 criminal leads and arrests across the globe and international convictions.
